HOMEAID COLLECTS NON-PERISHABLE FOOD FOR INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES ACROSS SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA
—Homebuilders care about the community where they build and thrive—
Tustin, Calif., November 19, 2025 — HomeAid Orange County Los Angeles (HomeAid OCLA), once again in 2025, calls on the community to come together for its annual Holiday Meal Drive, collecting non-perishable food items to support individuals and families facing hunger and housing insecurity. The Drive Thru Drop-Off events will be held on Friday, December 5th, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in Irvine and Valencia, California.
This year’s campaign comes at a critical time. The recent government shutdown and loss of SNAP benefits for thousands of people in our community have heightened the strain on families already struggling to make ends meet. Food banks across Southern California report dwindling supplies and record-high demand for basic essentials. HomeAid OCLA’s Holiday Meal Drive aims to help bridge that gap by restocking shelves and delivering hope to those most affected.
“Every year, access to food is vital, but this year the stakes are even higher,” said Gina Cunningham, Executive Director of HomeAid OCLA. “The loss of food benefits and expanded federal relief programs has deeply impacted the very people we serve. We are here to support working families, seniors, and individuals experiencing or at risk of homelessness. Through our collective efforts, we can ensure they are remembered this holiday season.”
Thousands of pounds of non-perishable food will be collected and distributed through HomeAid OCLA’s network of housing partners and service providers. Volunteers will be on-site at both Drive Thru Drop-Off locations assisting with unloading, sorting, and assembling of meal boxes for local families.
“We know how food insecurity compounds the challenges faced by those without stable housing,” Cunningham continued. “This drive is one way to lift that burden and to remind struggling neighbors that their community still cares.”
